Wonderful Box Of Vintage Elves

Last week, I found this wonderful box of vintage elves at the local auction house. I've been having lots of fun playing around with them, taking pics and putting them up in my Etsy shop.

I've listed almost all of them, except for the Gilner pixies. I really love the pink ones and they'll be the hardest to part with...they're just sooooooooo cute. I love their faces- such darling, impish little grins!

The big polka dot elves are my second favorites. They've been featured in several really nice Etsy treasuries:

Vintage Duro Decals

I recently found a box of vintage 1950s decals, all in their original packaging. Aren't they wonderful? Look at those bright red graphics on the logo- so awesome!

It has been like Christmas around here, unpacking the box, sorting/organizing multiples, scanning and listing them in my Etsy shop.

There's already a batch that has sold and is headed off to a customer in Japan...she was buying them as fast as I could list them :-)

There are lots of nursery themed ones in the box and even odd ones, like the dutch ones in the photo above. I don't even know why the Dutch are so often seen in vintage kitschy images, but I do like them and they always make me smile...maybe it's the bright colors or those cute little wood clogs.

I am completely in love with this decal company's logo! Each set of decals comes in its original package- a glassine (waxy type see through paper) bag, with sheared edges and their red logo printed on the back. So cool! We just don't see graphics this well designed nowadays...

If  I had to play favorites, I would choose the nursery themed ones. They are all 100% adorable!

Just Listed: Vintage Strawberry Shortcake Dolls

I just finished listing these little Strawberry Shortcake cuties in my Etsy shop. Not pictured here are Orange Blossom and Purple Pie Man. I will be listing some bake shop pieces soon too. I LOVE Strawberry Shortcake. They look so cute, smell so berry sweet and bring back happy memories. I used to have a Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox in the 5th grade. It was my favorite childhood lunchbox for sure! (my Star Wars one from the 1st grade was my 2nd favorite lunchbox- the boys teased me about it, but I think that's because they were just jealous). I can still remember the way my Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox smelled when it was new.

I wish I could have had all of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls to play with when I was a child. I only had one or two of them and always longed for those wonderful play sets that went along with the dolls. There's just something so magical and sweet about Strawberry Shortcake and her colorful, happy little world.
